Pontiac, MI – Security Vitals is one of the newest clients of the Macomb OU-Incubator as a recent award recipient of a grant from the Business Accelerator Fund (BAF). BAF awards are an initiative of the State of Michigan’s 21st Century Jobs Fund Program and are distributed by the Michigan Small Business Development Center through the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and Michigan’s network of business accelerators.
The Macomb-OU Incubator is the leading BAF award winner in the State, having garnered nearly $700,000 in BAF funds to assist its client companies in the last 5 years, allowing it to successfully deliver specialized business acceleration services to companies commercializing advanced technology.
Security Vitals is led by President Rob Cote, an industry expert with more than 15 years of experience in the field of cyber security and risk mitigation. Security Vitals caters to business clients around the state as well as in the Midwest region. Funds awarded to Security Vitals will be used to increase awareness for businesses that must comply with a government issued cyber security standard called NIST 800-171. The standard impacts organizations that deal with sensitive military data and is intended to protect it from being accessed by unauthorized individuals and organizations. Manufacturing, engineering, and testing organizations that do not comply with the standard risk losing their government contracts. Security Vitals offers a monthly Compliance as a Service (CaaS) program that delivers the resources needed to meet NIST requirements.
